The jumper dresses used to be traditional Russian clothing for women and girls. With the Aliya waves from Russia to Israel in the early 19th century it became a very iconic item in Israel as well.
Back then it used to be worn with a shirt underneath, but today you can also wear it as is, depends on your own style!
